To See Pink Elephants

Piret Jaaks's most translated play "To See Pink Elephants" won the play writing contest of the Estonian Theater Agency in 2011. According to the jury, the value was the synthesis of reality and imagination and a powerful surprising ending. This has been said a little, to say the least. This is a story about unusual people in an ordinary world. This is a story about people who want to make dreams come true. About two women and a man who does not accept forced loneliness. Fears and hopes, burning thirst and faith.

The play has been performed in several European countries.

Marble Surface

The Sirens

Nine people find themselves behind closed doors and unable to remember what happened to them last. They try to recover their memory and find out who is behind their unfortunate situation. It's a thriller like "Saw", existential like J.P. Sartre, yet a strikingly modern play about modern people.

Same Words Another Music

We Estonians like to tell the story of how we sang ourselves free. Much less do we like to tell the story that just before the restoration of independence, there were such sharp disagreements among the decision-makers and the people that an agreement seemed impossible. However, they agreed and built their own country.

Play "Same words another music" is based on interviews with women who helped restore Estonia's independence. The performance team played with the myth that in the end, in the midst of heated confrontation, these were the few women who were able to maintain peace and find common ground. But the play is not only about the past. It speaks about freedom and the lack of it today.
